What Hair Styles Can You Cut Yourself?

How much did you pay for your last hair cut? Probably more than £10 right? Like prostitution, barbers have been around since what seems like the dawn of time and they have never been more expensive than they are now. Everyone's hair grows and most people like or need to get it cut at some point or we would all be walking around like sorcerers so there really is no avoiding it.

How would you like to be able to cut your own hair and save that money for something more important? Well, as prices of haircuts are going up and up, here is some idea of what hair styles you can do yourself.

Bowl Cut

One of the simplest haircuts you can give someone, or maybe give yourself, is a bowl cut. This is achieved by either using your eye to judge where to cut or by actually using a bowl as a guide. Cut the hair as it falls below the line of the bowl as it sits on top of your head or just cut a straight line all around the hair on your head so that none of it falls below eye level. Cheap, smart and functional, but looks a bit silly.

Shaved/Skinhead

While this style may be a little extreme for some, there is no denying that it is the easiest hair cut to do to someone else and especially to you. What you will need though is a pair of clippers. You can get a cheap pair for less than £20 though and will last you for a long time if you look after them properly. Choose how long you want your hair to be by selecting one of the trimming guides or by using a comb as a guide. Then as you might have guessed, turn the clippers on and start cutting your hair. The only tricky thing is getting it all even and not missing any bits. Just use a mirror to check and you should be fine. No matter how fancy the salon design or how pretty the woman behind the reception desks might be, you should never have to pay for a simple hair cut like this.

Mullet

Another very easy haircut you might want to try is the mullet. There are lots of fancy mullets hair salons will do for you but you can easily do a basic mullet yourself. All you need to do is use clippers to cut the hair at the front and sides of your head short and leave the rest. Hey presto…you have a mullet!
